Abstract:

Soil samples taken in eastern Kenya contained Xiphinema brevicolle Lordello Br Da Costa, 1961; X. oxycaudatum Lamberti & Bleve-Zachec, 1979; and X. simile Lamberti et al., 1983. These species are reported for the first time from Kenya, X. oxcaudatum is reported for the first time outside the country from where it was originally described and X. simile is reported for the first time outside Europe. The Kenyan specimens have been compared with topotypes (X. brevicolle) or original type material (X. oxycaudatum and X. simile).
