Abstract:

Two new Xiphinema species are described from Kenya. X. masaiorum n. sp. is close to X. limbeense and X. malawiense, but can be distinguished from both these species by differences in tail shape, as well as in various measurements and ratios. It is also compared with X. abrantinum, from which it differs in size, lip region shape and absence of males. X. kikuyense n. sp. is compared with X. malagasi, X. limbeense, X. malawiense and X. rarum. From X. limbeense and X. malawiense it differs in the possession of uterine spines, and from the former three species in the presence of males. It differs from X. rarum in the length of the hyaline tail tip and especially in shape and size of the male tail.
